eBay is a
true global market place. There are millions of customers shopping for
thousands of products in hundreds of subcategories.
Auctions for cars, computers, boats, and shoes close every few
minutes on eBay.
The demand for merchandise on eBay is greater to the demand than most
of the largest department stores experience during their busiest
shopping seasons. eBay sellers who have the right product mix have the
opportunity to turn their eBay business into a full time income, or at
minimum to provide them with a nice sized additional source of
spending money.
Many eBay sellers rush into eBay with dreams of riches only to be
confronted with the actual reality of the eBay market place.
The reality is that while there is a strong demand for many types of
products, an eBay seller cannot simply put up an auction and expect to
make money.

merchandise I have found the following. There are requirements that
must be met in order for the items to sell well on eBay.
The two requirements are either that the merchandise must compete on
price, and be priced well below other listed items. Or, the
merchandise must be unique enough so that there is none or little
competition from other eBay sellers. One way to have merchandise that
meets both of these requirements is to buy wholesale and closeout
